The 20-Minute Vacation Workout
Vacation is supposed to be enjoyable.
It's a chance to relax, recharge, explore, and spend time with the people you care about.
But for many people, vacations can also create stress around fitness.
They worry about missing workouts, losing progress, or falling out of their routine.
At Apex Personal Training, we encourage a different perspective.
Vacation workouts don't need to be perfect.
They just need to happen.
Something Is Better Than Nothing
One of the most common traps people fall into is all-or-nothing thinking.
"If I can't do my normal workout, I won't do anything."
The problem is that this mindset often turns a few missed workouts into weeks of lost momentum.
Instead, focus on doing what you can with the time and resources available.
Why 20 Minutes Is Enough
Twenty minutes may not seem like much.
But a focused workout can:
- challenge your muscles
- elevate your heart rate
- improve energy levels
- reinforce healthy habits
Most importantly, it keeps you connected to your routine.
A Simple Vacation Workout
Set a timer for 20 minutes and complete:
10 Bodyweight Squats
10 Push-Ups
10 Walking Lunges Per Leg
30-Second Plank
30 Seconds of Cardio
Choose:
- jumping jacks
- jogging in place
- brisk walking
- stair climbing
Repeat for 20 minutes.
Modify as needed based on your fitness level and environment.
Flexibility Is the Goal
Vacation workouts should fit the trip - not compete with it.
You don't need:
- a full gym
- specialty equipment
- an hour of free time
You simply need a willingness to move.
The goal is maintaining consistency, not chasing perfection.
Build a Sustainable Lifestyle
Fitness becomes much easier when you stop viewing travel as a setback.
Healthy habits should be flexible enough to travel with you.
A short workout, a walk, or a quick mobility session can all help you maintain momentum while still fully enjoying your vacation.
